"Ron and the team anticipated all our needs and provided top notch service every step of the way."
"This is one of the best, if not the best, travel experiences I've had. This was my first time with LP and everything went off without a hitch (and that's a huge accomplishment given the mammoth task that is Trinidad Carnival). Ron and the team anticipated all our needs and provided top notch service every step of the way. They were also able to improvise brilliantly when any issues came up. Truly felt like part of the LP family. Wouldn't trust anyone else with my travel planning."

What Is Grenada Spicemas? The Caribbean's Most Underrated Cultural Celebration
Spicemas is Grenada’s iconic August carnival—a living archive of freedom, artistry, and community. Expect J’Ouvert before sunrise, powerful traditional mas like Jab Jab, steelpan and calypso competitions, and Pretty Mas’s spectacular pageantry. It’s a celebration rooted in emancipation-era expressions that evolved into the island’s signature festival
The History of Grenada Spicemas—A Celebration of Freedom, Resilience & Caribbean Identity
The festival’s roots trace back to French colonial masquerade balls and African traditions brought by enslaved people, who used performance and masquerade as forms of resistance and liberation. Today, Spicemas stands as a symbol of freedom, cultural resilience, and Grenadian pride.
Monarch Competitions, Fetes & Pageantry
Soca and Calypso competitions, beauty pageants, and parties showcase local talent and artistry in the lead-up to Carnival Monday
J’Ouvert & Jab Jab
The dawn-breaking start to Carnival, where participants—known as Jab Jabs—cover themselves in oil, paint, molasses, or mud, moving through the streets in a powerful ancestral tradition symbolizing release and defiance.
Grenada’s Jab Jab—with oil-blackened bodies, horns, chains, and drums—channels a rebellious, emancipatory performance tradition. Far from “shock value,” the symbolism reclaims power and satirizes oppression, making J’Ouvert a profound ritual of memory and joy.

Grenada Spicemas 2027 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What makes Limin Professionals the right concierge for Spicemas 2027?
We are the concierge that sold out our inaugural Spicemas experience in 2026—before most people had even heard of us in the Grenada Carnival space. That result came from 19 years of trust-building with discerning professionals who know that when we curate an experience, every detail is handled correctly. We brought the same white-glove standard we built through years of Trinidad Carnival to Grenada, and the response confirmed what our community already knew: the LP experience is in a category of its own.
Is Limin Professionals Luxury Concierge a legitimate, accredited company?
Yes. Limin Professionals Luxury Concierge, LLC is a BBB (Better Business Bureau) Accredited Business, is Black-owned, and is headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland.
How do I get in touch or ask more questions?
You can chat directly with Ron (the lead concierge) via WhatsApp at +1 (410) 635-4051, email at info@liminpros.co, or register via the link on the page.
What are the Grenada Spicemas 2027 Dates?
Spicemas Monday and Tuesday fall on August 9 and 10, 2027. The full Spicemas festival in Grenada spans roughly ten days each August, building through soca and calypso competitions, pageants, and J'Ouvert before culminating in the Parade of the Bands.
Limin' Professionals offers two all-inclusive Grenada Spicemas 2027 packages built around those dates. The 7-night "Water for Chocolate" package runs Wednesday, August 4 through Wednesday, August 11, 2027. The 5-night "Short & Spicey" package runs Friday, August 6 through Wednesday, August 11, 2027. Both are hosted at SilverSands Grenada on Grand Anse Beach, and both can be extended with earlier arrival or later departure on request.
Is there a minimum stay requirement?
Yes. A 5-night minimum stay, Fri 06 - Wed 11 Aug, 2027 applies to all packages.
Can my partner/roommate and I do different packages?
No—All roommates must be on the same package with the same dates.
Where will we be staying?
Our official host hotel, SilverSands Grenada at Grand Anse—the same stunning five-star beachfront property that served as our home for the sold-out 2026 experience. SilverSands is widely regarded as one of the finest resorts in the Eastern Caribbean, offering beachfront access, exceptional dining, and a level of luxury that sets the tone for the entire Spicemas experience.
How far is SilverSands Grenada from Maurice Bishop International Airport?
SilverSands Grenada on Grand Anse Beach is roughly 5 kilometers (about 3 miles) from Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) — a drive of approximately 10 to 15 minutes depending on traffic. It is one of the shortest airport-to-resort transfers of any five-star property in the Eastern Caribbean.
Maurice Bishop International Airport receives nonstop flights from Miami, New York, Atlanta, Toronto, London, Frankfurt, and neighboring Caribbean islands.
Guests on a Limin' Professionals Grenada Spicemas 2027 package do not arrange this transfer themselves. Private airport pickup and drop-off is included in every package, along with private transfers to and from every event on the itinerary.
What is Grenada Spicemas and when does it take place?
Grenada Spicemas is the island's annual Carnival celebration, held every August—typically on the second Monday and Tuesday of the month. The full festival spans approximately ten days, featuring J'Ouvert, Jab Jab, soca and calypso competitions, beauty pageants, and the spectacular Parade of the Bands. In 2027, Spicemas Monday and Tuesday fall on August 9 and 10.
When do Grenada Spicemas 2027 packages go on sale?
Registration is open now. Given that our 2026 inaugural Spicemas experience sold out entirely, we strongly recommend securing your spot as soon as possible.
What is included in your all-inclusive Grenada Spicemas 2027 packages?
Our packages include five-star accommodations at SilverSands Grenada with daily hotel credit, private airport and event transfers, VIP access to curated fetes, J'Ouvert with Carib J'Ouvert, a full costume package with Vibe Mas, Parade of the Bands participation, a private meet and greet event, and full white-glove concierge support throughout your stay.
How is Grenada Spicemas different from Trinidad Carnival?
While both are deeply rooted in Caribbean Carnival tradition, Spicemas has a character and intimacy that is entirely its own. Grenada is a smaller island, which makes Spicemas a more immersive, community-centered experience. The Jab Jab tradition—where participants cover themselves in oil, paint, or mud in a powerful ancestral ritual—is particularly distinctive and unlike anything in Trinidad Carnival. The atmosphere is raw, electric, and deeply cultural.
Do I need a visa to travel to Grenada?
Citizens of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, most European countries, most Commonwealth and Caribbean nations, South Korea, and Japan do not need a visa to enter Grenada as tourists. United States citizens receive a free visitor's entry on arrival for stays of up to 90 days.
You will need a valid passport and a return or onward ticket. Grenadian authorities advise that your passport be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date, and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security requires all U.S. travelers to present a passport to re-enter the United States, so a passport is effectively mandatory regardless of Grenada's own entry rules.
Visa requirements depend on your nationality and can change. Confirm your own requirements with the Grenada Tourism Authority or your nearest Grenadian consulate before booking travel for Spicemas 2027.
What is Jab Jab?
Jab Jab is Grenada's signature J'Ouvert masquerade tradition, and the most distinctive element of Grenada Spicemas. Participants, known as Jab Jabs, coat themselves in used oil, paint, molasses, or mud and move through the streets before dawn wearing horns and chains, accompanied by drums and conch shells.
The name derives from the French patois diable — devil. The tradition grew out of emancipation-era resistance, in which enslaved and newly freed Grenadians used masquerade to satirize their oppressors and to reclaim, through performance, an image that had been used to degrade them. The oil-blackened body, the horns, and the chains are deliberate references to that history.
Jab Jab is often mistaken for shock imagery by visitors seeing it for the first time. It is closer to the opposite: a ritual of memory, defiance, and release, and among the most culturally significant expressions in the Caribbean Carnival tradition.
What should I wear to J'Ouvert in Grenada?
Wear clothing you are fully prepared to throw away. Grenada's J'Ouvert involves oil, paint, mud, and powder, and none of it comes out. Most experienced masqueraders wear an old T-shirt or the band's jersey, shorts or leggings they will discard, and closed-toe sneakers they never intend to wear again — open sandals are a poor idea on dark streets in a moving crowd.
Cover your hair with a bandana, scarf, or old cap. Leave jewelry, watches, and anything sentimental at the hotel. Bring eye protection; sunglasses are the usual solution. Carry your phone in a sealed waterproof pouch or leave it behind entirely. Many masqueraders apply coconut oil or a barrier lotion to skin and hair beforehand, which makes washing off considerably easier afterward.
J'Ouvert in Grenada begins before dawn and ends after sunrise. Guests on a Limin' Professionals Grenada Spicemas 2027 package receive a Carib J'Ouvert package as part of their all-inclusive experience.
What are Fêtes?
Fêtes are the high-energy parties leading up to the main parade. They feature top soca artists, DJs, and gourmet cuisine, ranging from large all-inclusive premium events to intimate beachside soirees. They are where the Carnival spirit truly ignites before the road.
Is Grenada Spicemas worth it?
For travelers drawn to Caribbean Carnival, Grenada Spicemas is worth it for reasons that have little to do with scale. Grenada is a small island, and Spicemas is correspondingly intimate. You are not one of a hundred thousand masqueraders. You are among a few thousand, on roads where people know each other, in a celebration that has stayed closer to its emancipation-era roots than almost any other Carnival in the region.
Its Jab Jab J'Ouvert tradition is the clearest expression of that, and it exists nowhere else in the same form. Spicemas is also held in August, which makes it accessible to travelers who cannot take leave in February for Trinidad Carnival.
It is worth being honest about who it does not suit. If you want the sheer scale, the fete density, and the production value of Trinidad Carnival, Spicemas will feel smaller. If you want a beach holiday with a parade attached, the pace will surprise you. Spicemas rewards travelers who came for the culture. Limin' Professionals' inaugural Grenada Spicemas experience sold out entirely in 2026, and the demand came almost entirely from guests who had already done Trinidad and wanted something more rooted.
Is this trip suitable for first-timers?
Absolutely. The packages are designed specifically to take the guesswork out of Carnival for first-timers. The concierge team provides extensive pre-trip communication and on-the-ground support throughout the week.
Can I come solo, or do I need a group?
Both solo travelers and groups are welcome. Limin Professionals serves solo travelers, couples, friend groups, and milestone celebrations. The private meet & greet is designed to connect you with fellow guests before the festivities begin.
Limin' Professionals also offers roommate matching for solo travelers, pairing you with a compatible travel companion based on your preferences — which lets you book at the double-occupancy rate rather than the single-occupancy rate.
Is this appropriate for celebrating a milestone (birthday, anniversary, etc.)?
Yes! Limin Professionals specifically caters these travel experiences to milestone celebrations.
How much does Grenada Spicemas 2027 cost?
Limin' Professionals' all-inclusive Grenada Spicemas 2027 packages range from US$6,595 to US$16,450 per person, depending on package length, room type, and occupancy.
The 5-night "Short & Spicey" package (August 6–11, 2027) starts at US$6,595 per person for a Garden View Room at double occupancy, and runs to US$12,450 for a Beachfront Villa at single occupancy. The 7-night "Water for Chocolate" package (August 4–11, 2027) starts at US$8,250 per person for a Garden View Room at double occupancy, and runs to US$16,450 for a Beachfront Villa at single occupancy.
Every package includes five-star accommodation at SilverSands Grenada, daily breakfast, a daily hotel credit per room, private airport and event transfers, premium fete tickets, a Carib J'Ouvert package, Vibe Mas costume coordination, and white-glove concierge support. International airfare is not included. A deposit of US$1,000 per person secures a spot at double occupancy, with the balance spread monthly through June 15, 2027.
What is the deposit for a Grenada Spicemas 2027 package?
The deposit to secure a Limin' Professionals Grenada Spicemas 2027 package is US$1,000 per person at double occupancy, or US$1,500 per person at single occupancy.
The remaining balance is spread across monthly payments through June 15, 2027, when all packages must be paid in full. The monthly amount is simply the package price minus your deposit, divided by the number of months remaining until June 2027. A guest registering in July 2026 for the US$6,595 package, for example, would pay roughly US$509 per month across eleven months. Paying a larger deposit lowers the monthly payment.
All payments toward a Grenada Spicemas package are final and non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, your package may be transferred to another person of your choosing, provided written notice reaches Limin' Professionals no later than 30 days before your scheduled arrival in Grenada. Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect your investment.
When does the full balance need to be paid?
All packages must be paid in full by June 15, 2027.
Can I pay more than the monthly minimum?
Yes—you can pay more than the minimum at any time. The higher your initial deposit, the lower your monthly payments become.
What is the refund policy?
All payments are final and non-refundable.
Can I transfer my spot to someone else if I can't attend?
Yes. Your package may be transferred to another individual of your choosing, provided written notice is submitted to Limin Professionals no later than 30 days prior to your scheduled arrival in Grenada. Transfers outside this window cannot be accommodated.
Is travel insurance recommended?
Strongly yes. Limin Professionals recommends securing travel insurance to protect your investment. They can connect you with their trusted affiliate, Faye, for a quote.
