Inside the Procurement: SCSUNAA's 2026 National Convention

In April 2026, the South Carolina State University National Alumni Association engaged Limin Professionals as the procurement partner for their 36th National Convention—a 400-plus-traveler, five-day program in Norfolk, Virginia, marking the 130th anniversary of South Carolina State University, the 50th anniversary of the Tidewater-Peninsula Chapter, and America's 250th.

The engagement covered the full procurement phase: a six-criterion RFP issued to fourteen properties, a weighted evaluation matrix, finalist analysis, leadership presentation, and a venue contract for the Sheraton Norfolk Waterside Hotel.

The contract delivered 250 guest rooms across the convention schedule, conference space configured for 400-plus attendees, dedicated breakout rooms, banquet space for the Wednesday Welcome Cocktails and Saturday Night Gala, food and beverage coordination, and a negotiated concession package returning meaningful value to a non-profit organization's budget.

This is the largest single group contract in Limin Professionals' history.
